Skil 2466 Driver Drill
I purchased this drill as the step down from a drill twice its price at a hardware store. I got the cheaper drill because I figured I m not a professional, I m just a guy who likes to fix stuff up at his house once in a while. The counterperson assured me that just about anything would do for the minor tasks I wished to tackle, and I agreed. One would think that any decent, name-brand drill would be able to handle the light use required for occasional picture hanging and furniture-fixing, but if you re having this thought, you clearly haven t met the Skil 2466.
I ve used this drill to put up shelving, fix some broken Ikea products, and mount the occasional frame. Anything over 15 minutes of use, and this thing begins to slow-down and weaken so badly it s barely able to complete screwing in a single screw. This is confusing, because it makes a vigorous noise like it s working hard, so you ll think it has something to do with the screws you re using or your technique, but with trial and error you will discover that 15 minutes of work is all this thing s got in it. Then it s back to the charging dock for another hour, because this drill does not have a plug-in option, and MUST operate by its battery. Trouble is, the battery is a piece of total garbage, and the entire tool s performance relies on it. I never assumed ANYONE would make a drill too weak to build an Ikea product, but again, the Skil 2466 has taught me so much.
To me, this is not a drill, it s a 60 headache. If your power tool can t stay charged long enough to build a simple object, then give us the plug-in option. I would rather have no drill at all rather than one which generates such frustration. Buy a better drill and forget about this mess.

I have a Skill 2466-02 drill that one of the two batteries died. I was on ebay looking for a replacement battery and saw the same drill with the battery for less then 10 batteries go for 40 now I have two drills and two working batteries. Great deal. I was very happy with my purchase, it had great power, it is light and easy to handle. Great for the lady fixer upper. I was using my friends male but I could hardly hold his drill over my head and it didn t have the power mine has. Light, powerful and easy to use. What more can be said.
